Exploring Intersections between Heritage, Communication, and Digital Humanities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are pleased to announce the Language and Intercultural Communication Learning Conference \u2013 LaICL \u201925, dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue on the evolving landscape of language, communication, and intercultural exchange. This year\u2019s theme, \u201cExploring Intersections between Heritage, Communication, and Digital Humanities\u201d, invites scholars, educators, and practitioners to engage in critical discussions on how language and intercultural communication intersect with heritage studies and digital humanities in a rapidly evolving digital era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an increasingly interconnected world, digital tools and technologies are transforming how we engage with linguistic and cultural heritage. From the digitisation of archives to AI-driven language learning tools, the intersections between digital humanities and heritage studies present new opportunities and challenges for intercultural communication. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This conference aims to explore these dynamics, addressing questions such as: How can digital humanities reshape language learning and intercultural competence? In what ways does heritage preservation influence communication? What role do digital platforms play in fostering inclusive and accessible intercultural dialogue? How can digital technologies contribute to the preservation of cultural memory while ensuring its relevance for future generations?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extended abstracts for paper\/poster presentations must be in English, with 600-1000 words, up to 5 keywords and 5 references, and a short biographical note. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

13-14 November 2025 | Paper presentations (in-person & online)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paper presentations should not exceed 20 minutes. The official languages of the Conference are English, Portuguese, French, and Spanish. There will be no simultaneous translation. Participants who do not present in English are kindly asked to prepare their PowerPoint presentations in this language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14 November 2025 | Student symposium (online)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the aim of providing students with an opportunity to showcase their academic projects in a professional conference setting and, thus, not only share their experiences but also engage, learn and grow, a student symposium will take place online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Works may be presented in English, Portuguese, French, or Spanish. The format will be posters only, with each session lasting around 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for Q&A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best poster awards <\/strong>| The most accomplished presentations will be selected by the Scientific Committee to receive a Best Poster Award and a Best Poster Honourable Mention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publication<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

1 \u2013<\/em> All accepted proposals will be published in the LaICL’25 – Book of Extended Abstracts<\/em> (to be published prior to the conference, in open access and with ISBN & DOI numbers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 \u2013<\/em> A selection of high-quality papers describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, experimental, or theoretical work\/research will be included in the edited volume:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
